i been sitting with this idea of carefully curated playlists of dope ass music that truly embodies the energetics of each planet, from the moon and sun all the way down to neptune and pluto. i knew that i couldn’t just hit up anybody for this mission. i needed a particular someone whose astrological chart lives music, somebody who loves sound from a place of necessity and magnetism. a pull so deep they eat, sleep, drink it. these playlists are so fuckin potent because they were curarted with supreme intention. each one is meant to serve us as a soundtrack to the different phases of our lives.
they’re intended to be listened to with each planet in mind. prescribed like medicine. to be received when you’re ready to step into your path with your whole chest! they are here as companions, to help you honor where you are and what you are stepping into. they are designed to support you in creating spaces for reflection and true integration.
press play and let the music be your medicine.

big daddy
saturn
is the master teacher
saturn
big daddy saturn is the teacher. it is the planet of structure, strategy, responsibility, it’s committment. it is the planet of hell fuck no! restriction! boundaries! consequence.
saturn say “cross every fuckin T and dot every I and every lowercase j or i will fuck you up!” “take short cuts and see what happens!” “cut corners, and ima slap fire out you!”.
we ain’t avoiding our responsibilities, or lying to ourselves about what it’s really gon take to bring our dreams into reality. it’s the structure behind it all. it's the cost to be boss. saturn is not about to negotiate with you for shit! it ain’t lettin up. the only way out is IN- into all the shit you don’t wanna fuckin do!
it’s gonna stand the test of time, it’s gonna move slow, and it ain’t fuckin around with the fuckery. big daddy saturn says grow the fuck up! and when you do, you can come into some of your greatest and fullest potential. it wants us to actualize our dreams by doing the work (see "I Go To Work" by Kool Moe Dee).
in astrology, saturn rules capricorn. cap is a cardinal earth sign, it ushers in a new season and is thoroughly concerned with discipline. saturn and cap is bout it, bout it! especially when ain’t nobody lookin. it’s gone build legacy. and best believe whatever they build is gone last.
honoring limits while respecting time.
this playlist is potent during capricorn season, saturn returns, heavy saturn transits, when you wanna honor any part of you that is saturn ruled. and whenever life say “be fuckin serious!”. press play. when you’re done playing games and you ready to take full responsibility for your choices. Press gotdamn play!
listen to this playlist when you ready to stand on business, be ten toes down, and quit fuckin' 'round with the fuckery!

black
saturn
my boy deen hasaan invited me into the series, black saturn. his whole premise is rooted in the fact that it takes big daddy saturn about 30 years to return to the position it was in when we were born. it’s called the saturn return. and collectively, we in the saturn return of one of the most influential eras in black culture: 1995–2005.
for the next decade, we’re hitting 30-year anniversaries of the classic albums, films, TV shows, innovations, political moments, fashion, and art that shaped us. so for the first episode of black saturn, the invitation was to break down monica’s “miss thang,” which turned 30 this year, treating the album like a person, reading its birth chart and cards, honoring it as a living entity in our black cultural lineage and legacy. watch the episode below where me and deen go in.
